LOS ANGELES SUMMER OF LEARNING PROGRAM
Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti invites you to participate in the Los Angeles Summer of Learning program. In partnership with LAUSD, Los Angeles Summer of Learning aims to connect students with creative, interactive and interest-driven learning opportunities, which will help youth learn new skills essential to their academic and professional success. Please help us engage Los Angeles’ youth in this amazing opportunity.
You can help the City of Los Angeles outreach by sharing the LA Summer of Learning website, the attached postcard and sign up instructions with friends, families, and respective community. Also, attached is a banner you can include on your website and media outlets.
About the Program:
Youth are invited to participate in free activities throughout the city and online to explore new interests, polish their skills, and apply their talents in the real world. All they have to do is sign up on the Los Angeles Summer of Learning website.
Once a student sign up, they can register to activities and begin earning digital badges. Students can search and register to hundreds of activities based on their age, interests or location. Badges are earned after completing an activity and represent an acquired skills. Badges allow students to enter in city-wide competitions and participate in the end-of summer celebration. Most importantly, badges can be used to strengthen students’ digital portfolios and/or resumes.
If you have any questions regarding the program, please contact Krystal Meisel, LA Summer of Learning Program Manager, via email @[email protected].
